What You’ll Need to Draw a Pie Easy

I’m not going to gatekeep drawing so you are absolutely welcome to just use what you have to draw with me <3. That includes:

But I will be drawing it digitally on my tablet using the most affordable software I know, Clip Studio Paint.

How to Draw a Pie Easy Step-by-Step

1. Draw the Guideline

So first, draw a literal circle on your page then lower the opacity. This little circle has the special purpose of serving as our guideline🌷✨

2. Draw the Pie Crust

So now, let’s start by drawing a scalloped edge along the guideline. You should do this in a new layer with full opacity above your guideline layer.

So (gasp x3), this may seem like a huge step but really, it’s just a scalloped edge all around.

But oh my, someone took a slice out the pie! So draw a wavy v shape at the bottom right of the circle. Then, draw a parallel line below the right arm of the v to show the exposed slice.

How to Draw a Pie Easy

Then, as you’re completing the gap between the pie crust and the bottom of the slice, add a border girlies et al🐇🎀 Because we’re serving our hypothetical guests filling and crust.

I also hid the guideline layer but you can delete it if you’re not vibing with a hidden circle in your layers.

Then, start defining the crust so it looks puffed at the edges. This is super simple! All you do is add a bracket curve opposite to each curve in your scalloped edge.

So now, keep puffing it up! I added a swirl on the puff above the exposed slice. But it’s freedom of choice girlies et al, you can add whatever makes your heart say “slay”🐇🎀

So now, the pie needs a bottom. It’s just been floating in the air on the left side and we can’t do that to it any longer. So, draw a horizontal ‘[‘ following the pie’s natural curvature.

3. Draw the Pie Holes

So next, I drew a cat face! Then, I drew a curved line a bit inwards on the right side of its face. This may seem a bit random but it’s just a cute remix of those leaf-shaped holes in pies🌷.

Then, repeat that for two more cat-faced pie gaps. You should draw it along an imaginary circular order with a little space between each one.

4. Draw Strawberries & Cream

Then, how could we serve pie with no cream? The people will rage without it. So, draw a cloud in between the cat faces. I started with 2 c curves here🎀

Then, here the cloud is all done!

Then, repeat that with 3 more clouds — 1 between each cat face.

So then, since this is a strawberry pie, let’s add some of them in the cream🍓✨ I did this by drawing a ‘n’ shape over the outer edge of one cream cloud.

So next, erase the overlapping outer edge so the strawberry can have its moment. Then, like a real Pinocchio boy strawberry, draw some more ‘c’ curves to show the berry is embedded in the cream.

So now, repeat that for the next cream cloud. I decided to serve you all some variety so I flipped the strawberry this time🌷

Then, I added a simple strawberry leaf top and pushed it down in the cream.

So I alternated between strawberries with and without leaves but you can choose whatever arrangement you’d like xoxo.

5. Draw the Filling

So then, draw some filling in the cat faces. I did this by drawing a half heart shape then repeating that in different directions.

It’ll give the vibe of semi-mashed strawberry filling. That’s the slay way, girlies et al🐇🎀

Then, draw those half hearts in the exposed slice since the filling will show there too.

So, spoiler, there’s an incoming Strawbaby Cat (wowow so shocking)!

But we can’t leave our cat unable to throw hands. So draw two little paws as ovals somewhat off from the middle.

Then, draw his outline. This may seem like a huge step but if you follow this tutorial until you have his face down, you’ll be good.

Then, add a cloud of cream to the right cheek.

How to Color the Cutie Pie Drawing Easy

1. Color the Cat

So now, this may seem sudden but he’s colored fully here.

To be honest, I just copy pasted him from the cat drawing tutorial. You can also just not add the strawberry cat since your pie will work out either way🐇🎀

2. Color the Pie

Then, color the pies a tan color.

But also, don’t forget the edges of the cat faces since this is still part of the pie crust.

3. Color the Strawberries & Filling

Then, our strawberries are getting jealous so give them a red moment.

But also, don’t deprive them of their seeds. Draw some tiny white dots. They don’t have to be perfect, they just have to be on there.

Then, color the filling a slightly darker red. We don’t want monotony with the same shade of red that’d be crazy.

Now, color the strawberry leaves green. That’s it for the flat colors so yay in making it this far! Here’s a medal to celebrate 🏅

4. Add Slay Shadows

Then, in a Multiply layer, use the tan color to shade along the outer edge of the pie crust. But also on the edges of each cat face and the exposed slice.

MR. BON TIP 🐇: Remember that if you’re using a ‘Multiply’ layer, you can use the same shade you originally colored with.

So next, draw a slight shadow border under the puffed edge on the left.

Then, fade it out a bit below that since this part of the pie is hidden in the shadows😶‍🌫️

So next, shade below the cream and cat on the pie. Just follow the edge of the line for each one🌷

Then, shade along one side of each cat’s face on the bowl.

But also, add a red shadow along the lines of the red filling in the cat’s faces…but not Strawbaby’s.

So next, repeat that for the exposed slice.

Then, add a diagonal red shadow at the bottom of each strawberry in cream.

So next, shade a small diagonal pink shadow along Strawbaby Cat’s paws.

5. Airbrush Highlights in a ‘Screen’ Layer

Then, every cat deserves their own Fenty glitter glow. So in a screen layer, color light pink along the left side of the cat’s pink face.

Then, repeat that for the tops of the strawberries, his paws, and the filling.

So after that, airbrush a small highlight in the center of each puff in the crust. The puffs paid extra for that glow so they shall receive.

Finally, airbrush clusters of 3 ovals of different sizes randomly. This will give our pie a little texture moment and give it the element of slay it deserves.
