What You’ll Need to Draw Strawberry Mochi Cat

I’m not going to gatekeep drawing so you are absolutely welcome to just use what you have to draw with me <3. That includes:

But I will be drawing it digitally on my tablet using the most affordable software I know, Clip Studio Paint.

How to Draw Strawberry Mochi Cat Easy

1. Draw the Mochi

So first, draw a curve arched over the top of your page in an ‘n’ motion.

Then, give it a “these hips don’t lie” moment by carrying the curve down on the left side to make a ‘c’ shaped hip.

Do that on the right side too.

2. Draw the Chocolate & Strawberry Filling

Then, connect it at the bottom & trace the shape of the left side of your mochi by drawing a line inside it.

Create a border like so:

Then, make another one! It’s just like the Matryoshka dolls but mochi-style.

So then, draw another curved line.

Then, drag the line down in a curved motion like so:

Make a ‘w’ at the bottom and then drag it back up to the top from the right end of the ‘w’.

Then, draw this pointed line.

Keep going 🧚

Finish it like so:

3. Draw the Cat Features on the Strawberry

Then, draw 2 cat ears.

But also, draw many lines close together to create blissful eyes.

Then, give him whiskers, and 2 half ‘u’ shapes as arms.

4. Draw Details on the Mochi

So now, draw a broken line on the right side of the mochi.

Then, draw 2 upside down ‘v’ curves on the outermost circle to create another set of cat ears.

So now, draw 2 ‘u’ shapes as the mochi’s eyes.

Then, draw a ‘m’ for the arms and add one more ‘n’ onto it for each arm. But also, draw a few small lines above and below each arm to show he’s flailing.

How to Color the Strawberry Cat Mochi Drawing

So first, color the mochi grey.

Then, color the chocolate brown.

So now, color the strawberry red.

But also, color the spiky bit pink.

Then, in a multiply layer, airbrush the same grey color along the inside of the broken line.

So next, on the underside of each arm and ear on the grey mochi, airbrush a pink shadow.

Then, airbrush dark brown on the right and bottom of the chocolate.

Then, repeat that but in red for the strawberry.

So now, we need our mochi to have its glowy moment. So, take your red and grey pens in a screen layer and draw a ‘1’ on the inside of each respective ear.

Then, in white, draw a line on one side of each arm.

So next, in a screen layer, draw another red ‘!’ on the red belly of the strawberry.

Finally, airbrush a white ‘!’ along the left side of the chocolate and strawberry and lower the layer opacity.

Then that’s it!
