What You’ll Need to Draw a Boba Cup
I’m not going to gatekeep drawing so you are absolutely welcome to just use what you have to draw with me <3. That includes:
But I will be drawing it digitally on my tablet using the most affordable software I know, Clip Studio Paint.
I got it because I loved that you get access to a continuously-updated vault of free natural brushes and other materials made by pros to speed up & elevate your drawing process, perfect for beginners.
And you get all of that for a lifetime just by paying once (gasp)! Trust me, those monthly membership fees add up and I want you to be happily creating cute art without breaking the bank💵🚫.
But anyways, choose your non-lethal drawing weapon and let’s get started!
How to Draw a Boba Cup Step-by-Step
1. Draw the Boba Cup
So first, draw a slanted brown line.
Then, draw another one on the right side.
Connect the 2 lines at the top with another line curved inwards.
Another one 🧚✨
So now, connect it on each side.
Then, draw a circle at the bottom.
So next, draw a semicircle or dome shape for the boba cup lid.
But this isn’t any regular boba shop because this one serves cat ear lids! So, draw your 1st one on the left.
Then, on the right.
So now, we need an opening for our straw so draw an angled oval for the straw opening.
2. Draw the Straw
Then, draw a long line for the 1st bit of the straw.
Then, draw a parallel line for the other side of the straw.
Add an oval at the top of the straw so our customers can sip in peace.
Then, draw a short line curved out at the bottom of the straw.
3. Draw the Drink
So for the drink, we’re basically just going to draw a border outlining the cup base starting like so:
You should end up with an outline like this:
4. Draw the Boba
Boba is going to be super easy to draw…since it’s just a circle so add your 1st one!
Then, add a bunch more.
5. Draw Some Strawberries
So now, draw a ‘n’ for the strawberry fruit.
Then, add a scalloped edge for the leaves.
I added a small face to mine. At this point, it really looks like a cute squid but just hold on strong until the coloring steps.
So now, draw another strawberry & that’s it so far for the strawberries.
6. Add the Strawberry Cat & Draw Cheese Foam
So now, drop in this strawberry cat (if you’d like) from this tutorial here.
Then, add some cloud-like curves, starting on the left side.
So now, add some more around the cat like a bubble bath. If you don’t draw the cat then it’s all the same.
Keep your cloud extravaganza going!
Allll the way to the right.
Then, let’s start dripping cheese foam in the base of the cup.
Keep going until you get something like this:
Then, let’s add the same strawberry leaves onto the cup lid ears that we did for the fruits.
So now, it’s the return of the strawberries! Start by drawing this rock shape for the 1st fruit.
Then, add some smaller ones in the foam.
YAY, that’s it for the sketch so now, erase any overlapping lines and let’s get coloring!
How to Color the Strawberry Boba Cat Drawing
1. Add the Flat Colors
So first, color the cup blue.
Then, it’s pink’s time to shine.
So now, add your reds.
And the green on the leaves.
Then, color the boba black.
But also, we can’t leave the straw behind so color pink stripes on it.
Then, in a multiply layer in Clip Studio Paint, draw a pink line on the right side of the straw.
But also, add shadows to the sides, base circle, and under the cheese foam drips by coloring it the same pink shade in a multiply layer.
Then, add all your blue shadows also in a multiply layer. Do so on one side of each lid ear & the top of the cup rim.
So now, color pink along the edges of the cheese foam clouds.
Then, let’s start adding highlights! Color the drink under the foam a light pink.
But also add some medium pink rectangles under that in the drink.
Finally, merge your line art layers in Clip Studio Paint into 2 different color sections, blue (for the cup) & pink (for everything inside the drink).
Then that’s it!
